I used to think my favorite color was blue [what year was that], but gosh, it seems everything I do has pink in it, so grab all your black, red and pink paper and ribbons and lets make some very cool Valentine cards. Mouse over images for titles
Corset: [my favorite!] Make a corset pattern, tri-folding your card stock. Cover inside center with old dictionary paper and rubber stamp the word Valentine at the top. Punch holes for lacing, add eyelets and black ribbon. Embellish with vintage flowers. Make the bottom of the corset with fragile flowered tissue paper. For the inside, make a pink heart rubber stamped with your favorite Valentine message which can be pulled out. Red striped heart : Cover the front of card stock with Anna Griffin paper. Make a heart with red/white stripe paper, piecing two pieces together with Warm & Natural [you could use any batting] quilt batting between the two pieces. Sew edges on sewing machine. Punch two holes in the top and one bottom center. String some black wire in a loop at the top of the heart and tie a pink seam binding ribbon. Using jump rings, hang a crystal bottom center. Punch a hole in the top of vintage anagrams and string with different red ribbons/fibres, gluing to the heart. Embellish with a small rhinestone. Glue heart to card center. I tore out the description of the word Valentine out of a dictionary and collaged on the bottom right corner of the card. Rubberstamp a corner from the Maureen Blackman collection in the top left.
Roses: Spray glue the front of card stock and layer with a rose napkin. Napkins are generally 3-ply; you only need the top layer. Tear a page out of a dictionary and layer across the bottom of the page. Cut out some paper roses and mount with mounting tape. Add some vintage buttons and ribbon. The inside is created from pink striped vellum.
Purse: Make a little purse and embellish with black lace and rhinestones. The handle is made of old seam binding. Fold a piece of paper to adhere to the inside with your Valentine message.
Georgette: Fold a piece of black card stock in half. Collage with pink striped and Basic Grey papers. Embellish with a vintage angel image, some velvet ribbon and roses. Address an envelope to your Valentine, layering with old lace. Corner punch corners for character. On the inside, put a little coin envelope, another angel image and some lace.
Ribbon card: Layer the front of card stock with red and pink ribbons. Insert a vintage image and mica to the inside of a label holder. Tie on a couple ribbons at the top. On the inside glue down some soft pink paper and lace. Insert your Valentine message in a coin envelope draped with ribbon, lace and Victorian image.
