A successful piece of art doesn't necessarily reveal everything about itself at one glance. I strive to make work that evolves in this way. I like the feeling of a dream remembered - something that may seem real one moment and a bit elusive the next. Like a kind of visual poetry, I hint at a story without telling it .
My work is layered with hidden meaning which becomes revealed with time. If you live with one of my assemblages, they become like friends. At first glance you may see the art's potential, yet the work invites you to get to know it better to see what else will be revealed.
The magnifying glass in my work represents closely looking at something, inspection, introspection. It is an invitation to take an intimate view of an image. The assemblages are made to be viewed up close and one on one. As with a friendship, meaning becomes revealed with time.
