Marie Skrotzki 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 ins Polymer clay is rolled out and cut with a template that is used for the back and inside accordian folded pages. Stamped with Green Pepper press stamps and embellished with charms. Additional stamps ( 100 Proof Press) to use in the book are included

Sally White 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 ins marbled clay, modeled grapes and leaves, beads and fibres added to the jump rings
Teresa Lipiec 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 ins covers were made using FIMO Soft Stone Effects, which was a bit harder to use than my usual Premo Sculpey. The clay needed much more conditioning and was very crumbly. The clay contained fibres which made cutting the clay cleanly difficult. The texture of the finished pieces was quite nice though.

The invitation was to make 3 polymer clay small journal book covers, just the fronts, and decorate these with any technique you wanted. So they came up with a variety of solutions, some made the fronts, backs and bound the paper pages together to make a finished journal, or vintage photo books, some others that were made too proportionately thin, and broke in the post. In general a great learning experience in our quest for understanding and creating with polymer clay. Mouse over picture reveals artist, size and brief info on method Also highlight any text

1.  Medieval Madonna Journal:  shadow stamp the black Premo covers and apply metallic rub -ons; imprint Stampers Anonymous frame on scrap clay, age with Modern Options; prepare TLS t-shirt transfer of Madonna/child and back with silver paper.  Assemble as shown*
2.  Garden Journal:  Using texture plates, prepare back/front cover using Sculpey Flex/white Premo mix; cut circle in front cover for insert; roll very thin sheet of trans Premo and impress with JustJhone lily image, let dry then paint back of trans Premo with acrylics; apply trans image to medium sheet of silver leafed transparent clay; cut to size of cover opening.  Cure front cover with image insert for 15min then remove insert, continue curing both back and front covers ppd.  Drop insert in ice water to cool.  Sand insert very well and polish.  Paint covers with Lumiere pink/gold; glue image*
3.  PolymerClay Pocket Pal:  Make two textured covers with holes for ring binders; create cover elements using texture sheets, found objects, matrix boards (ERA graphics).  Cut texture sheets to fit, cut sandpaper grades to fit - assemble.
Note:  The idea for this one was to have some pc *tools* handy when the urge strikes to fiddle...additional items for the PCPP might include coin envelopes to hold super Sculpey for making molds, taking impressions or collecting items for TLS embellishments
*simple bindings and paper pages can be discarded...just wanted to see if my covers would work
